Friends of LTCL Give $80,000 to Capital Campaign

The Friends of Lake Travis Community Library presented a check for $80,000 to the LTCL Board of Trustees on February 8, 2010. The donation will support the Capital Campaign to build a new library. Schematic Floor Plan Approved

The Lake Travis Community Library Board of Trustees approved the Schematic Floor Plan for the new library! (PDF version) The 10,862 square foot building plans of the interior were approved at the Board meeting on November 21, 2009. Now, the fundraising begins! Please contact the library to donate to this worthy cause of download the Letter of Intent form to pledge to the library. We can't wait to make this dream a reality!

Groundbreaking on Tuscan Village Begins

Lakeway's newest retirement community, Tuscan Village, broke ground on May 14, 2009. In the future, Lake Travis Community Library will build on this property.

Library honors Joyce and Jon Champeny for $50,000 donation to the Lake Travis Community Library District building fund!

The check was presented at the Library Board meeting on October 13, 2008. Ms. Champeny has requested the money be given in honor of her grandchildren, all teenagers. The program plans for the new library include a special area for teens. "It is truly exciting that this donation is in recognition of your grandchildren," said Library Board President Carol Black. In addition, the Board presented a plaque to the Champeny's thanking them for their generous contribution.

Future Location of Lake Travis Community Library!

A special sign installation ceremony was held on July 10, 2008 at the site where the new Lake Travis Community Library will be built. Land Developer Haythem Dawlett will donate a plot of land at 1930 Lohman's Crossing to be used for the construction of a new library. Among those in attendance were Lakeway Mayor Steve Swan, City Manager Steve Jones, Hills Mayor Ginger Jones, Briarcliff Alderman Jean Dowdy, and developer Haythem Dawlett.
