Library District Board Members
Carol Black, President
Carol Black has a Master of Library and Information Science from The
University of Texas and a Ph.D. in the areas of university
administration and computer science from Texas A & M University. She
has served as a university Dean of Library Services, and a faculty
member in three university library schools. Dr. Black is a member of
the Texas Library Association and the American Library Association.
Volunteering in these organizations, she has worked with the Texas
Conference on Libraries and the White House Conference on Libraries.
As a Lakeway resident Dr. Black has served on the City of Lakeway's
Personnel Committee for many years and been an active member of The
Lakeway Church.
Sharon Rogers, Vice President
Sharon Rogers has a Masters Degree in School Administration and
Reading from Clarke College in Dubuque, Iowa. Her undergraduate work
was at Northwest Missouri State in Maryville, Missouri where she
received her degree in education and a minor in library science.
Doctoral work was done at Texas Woman’s University. Her last job was
as an educational consultant for schools across the country. She
served as a public school administrator for twelve years. She was
also a teacher and worked twelve years as a school librarian. Mrs.
Rogers is currently President of the Lakeway Women’s Golf
Association. She is active in the Lakeway Women’s Club and many
other local activities. She likes to spend her free time reading,
writing, creating stained glass art, and golfing.
Nancy Pencsak, Secretary
Nancy Pencsak has a Bachelor of Education, majoring in Mathematics
from the University of Kentucky. Mrs. Pencsak was among a small
group who founded the Lake Travis Community Library 20 years ago. A
Hudson Bend resident, Mrs. Pencsak has held every office on the Lake
Travis Community Library Board including President and Treasurer.
For the last 19 years, Ms. Pencsak has volunteered every week at our
community library and is currently the community library's Book
Sales Chairman.
Bob Johntz, Treasurer
Bob Johntz enjoyed a 30-year career in the data processing industry
prior to retiring in 1996. While living in Plano, Texas, Mr. Johntz
served as the Chairman of the Plano Library Advisory Board and as a
board member for the Plano Library Foundation. Mr. Johntz also
served as President of his Plano neighborhood homeowners'
association and a member of Christ United Methodist Church Board of
Trustees. Since moving to the Village of the Hills, Mr. Johntz has
assumed the duties of Treasurer of the Hills POA and become a member
of The Lakeway Church Finance Committee.
P. K. Chatterjee, Assistant Treasurer
Mr. Prodyodth K. Chatterjee (P.K.) has an undergraduate degree in
Mechanical Engineering from Jadavpur University, India, a M.B.A.
from Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, India and a M.S. in
Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. After a
business career spanning thirty-two years, he is now retired and
lives in Lakeway. He has held senior positions in several financial
services organizations including President & CEO of Bay View
Acceptance Corporation and Director of Bay View Capital Corporation,
Executive Vice President and Head of Consumer Lending at AmSouth
Bank and at U.S. Bancorp and Senior Vice President and Head of
Consumer Lending at Comerica Bank. Currently, he is an Adjunct
Professor of Finance at St. Edwards University and periodically
volunteers at the Lake Travis Community Library.
