Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Lake Travis Community Library provide volunteer service to the Lake Travis Community Library. For information call 263-2885 or email: friends@LakeTravisLibrary.org.

Meetings: The Friends of the Library meet monthly, usually on the third Thursday of each month. The meetings are at 10:00 AM at the library.  Minutes

Volunteer Opportunities: The library is always in need of volunteers. Volunteers work in 3 hour shifts assisting the staff with library tasks, including shelving books and checking books in and out for patrons. If you are not able to volunteer on a regular basis, there are other opportunities available. If you would like to help with the children's story time, plan special events, or help with our special programs, please contact us! Volunteer Form

Teen Service Scholarship: The Friends sponsor a $1,000 Service Scholarship to an eligible graduating senior. See the Teen page for more information.

Donations: The Friends of the Library accept donations of books, as well as monetary donations. Book donations may be added to the library collection, or sold to raise funds for library purchases. For cash donations, you can either donate online or write a check to the Friends of the Library. Other ways to help fund library projects:

• Donate something on the Friends' Wish List for the Library. The Wish List includes:

• Audio CDs
• Texas History collections for 4th and 6th graders
• Flash drives
• Ear buds
• Infant Changing Station
• Defibrillator (Donated! Thanks, Lions Club!! The Hudson Bend Fire Department will be installing it and providing training!!)

Ask a staff member or volunteer for more information.

• Randall's Good Neighbor Program: Get a Randall's Remarkable Card and ask them to add program #878. Randall's will donate a percentage of your spending to the library.
