library offers over 150 programs for all ages throughout the

Here are details about some of our most popular programs:
going into Kindergarten and up!
Camp activities will vary from week to week and will
include reading, crafts, science experiments, writing
projects, readerís theater, cooking, and more. Camps are
limited to twelve participants and numbers will be
distributed 30 minutes prior to the start of camp.
going into Kindergarten through third grades will meet
on Mondays at 1:30pm and children going into grades four
and up will meet on Mondays at 3pm.
Come & Go Crafts
crafty! Drop in and get creative with hands-on crafts.
Weíll have all the supplies you need to get started!
Activities might include sand art, animal masks, painted
rocks, and stamp art.

Ages 8 to 12
Explore science topics
such as liquids, solids and gases with experiments! Camp
is limited to eight participants and numbers will be
distributed 30 minutes prior to the start of camp.

Bookaneers: ages 4-6
Mondays at 10:30am
Preschoolers are invited to enjoy stories, finger plays, poems,
songs and crafts.
Tales for Tots: ages 2-3
Tuesdays at 10:30am
Toddlers are invited to attend story time with books, finger
plays, flannel board stories
Babies: ages 3-24 months
Wednesdays at 10:30am
Bounce, sing, and clap with your child in their first library
experience. This 20 minute
program promotes parent/child
interaction and includes a blend of books, finger plays
Lake Travis Community Library hosts a
story time at the Briarcliff Community Center
(22801 Briarcliff Drive, Briarcliff,
TX 78669) every Friday at 10am.
Chess Club - Mondays from 4:30pm to 5:30pm
Attention all you chess lovers! The library hosts a
Chess Club every Monday from 4:30pm to 5:30pm. All ages and
skill levels are invited to attend. However, young chess
players must be accompanied by an adult. BYOCS (Bring
Your Own Chess Set) and good luck!
Taste Buds - Second
Tuesday of the month at 4:30pm
Ages 10 and up are invited to
this hands-on cooking class. Learn a new hobby and make
some tasty dishes!
ABC's of Cooking - Third Tuesday
of the month at 4pm
Classes for 5 to 10 year olds will be held at the
library every third Tuesday of the month at 4pm. Librarian Sue Gilman will teach youngsters simple
recipes such as tortilla snowflakes, solar powered
símores, and ladybugs on a log. She will also
incorporate lessons about healthy eating habits and
nutrition. Itís guaranteed fun!
Due to the overwhelming popularity of our ABC's of
Cooking class, we have instituted the following
attendance procedures. The class size is limited to 12
children between the ages of 5 and 10. Passes are
required to attend the class and will be distributed at
the library's front desk starting 30 minutes prior to the
class. Passes will be handed out to each child in
order of request. For the safety of your child, kindly
notify the class leader of food allergies. Bon
Pajama Story Time - Third Tuesday of the month at 6:15pm
Wear your pajamas, have some milk and
cookies, and snuggle in for bedtime stories at PJ Story
Time. All ages are welcome to this family story time!
Family Flicks - Wednesdays at 3pm
Join us for fun family movies
(and popcorn!) during the summer every Wednesday at 3pm.

Yoga - Second Thursday of the month at 10:30am
The second Thursday of every month, 3 to 6 year olds are
invited to join Little Yoga at 10:30am. This 30 minute
class allows children to experience exercise in a mellow
environment. With adult participation, we will practice
breathing and age appropriate stretching. Let's get
Hola-Hola! Story Time - First Saturday of the month at
story time is for all ages, but in espaŮol! Join Ann
Benson from SOMOS AMIGOS for stories, songs, fingerplays
in Spanish. Ms. Benson is a bilingual educator and
Bow Wow Reading - Third
Saturday of the month from 10:30am to 1pm
partnership with the Austin Dog Alliance, Lake Travis
Community Library offers Bow Wow Reading every third
Saturday of the month from 10:30am to 1pm. This
program allows 6 to 12 year olds to improve their
reading skills by practicing reading to a dog! Sign up
for an individual 15 minute session on a first come,

Mothers and their 2nd-5th
grade daughters are invited to join a book
club for treats, togetherness, and book discussion. Here

Rhymes and Fingerplays
Learn new rhymes and fingerplays to practice with your
little one! Visit
StoryBlocks! This website sponsored by Colorado Libraries for
Early Literacy and PBS provides dozens of short one
minute videos that model songs, rhymes, and fingerplays
appropriate for early childhood. Each video clip
includes helpful early literacy tips to increase
caregiversí understanding of child development and
pre-literacy needs. Check it out!
TumbleBookLibrary is an online collection of
animated, talking picture books which teach young
children the joys of reading.
